Following recent attacks on its checkpoints in Kyaikto, the military junta has been conducting aerial reconnaissance, according to the Kyaikto Revolution Force (KRF).
At least two aircrafts are used for reconnaissance at a time and they are said to be equipped with bren guns that can easily hit the ground.
In Kyaikto Township, a joint team of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and PDFs attacked the Moppalin junction checkpoint and the Mayangchaung checkpoint in recent days leaving many military troops dead.
There have been periodic skirmishes between the regime troops and the KNLA in Thaton Township of Thaton District controlled by Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade 1.
