Junta camp attacked in Pekon, Killing 9 soldiers

The local People’s Defense Force told Than Lwin Times that at least nine junta soldiers were killed in an attack on two military camps stationed in Pekon Township in Karenni State.

On the 20th of July, the Pekon PDF Battalion 2 and the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) attacked the junta camp stationed on Lwemaku Taung near Lahe village in Pekon and another camp in Warisupalai village.

An official of the PDF said that during the attack, nine soldiers from Lwemaku Taung base were killed, and the No.7 military operation command of Pekon helped his forces with heavy weapons.

Meanwhile, the KNDF Battalion 3 attacked the junta base stationed in Warisuplai with a sniper, and some junta troops were reportedly killed.

There have been ongoing clashes between regime forces and the PDFs, with the military council suffering heavy losses.
