12 locals arrested by junta in Launglon

The military council arrested 12 local residents from Hincho Taw, Thabyay Shaung and Maungmakan villages in Taintharyi Regon’s Launglon Township, the local sources told Than Lwin Times.

Having checked the overnight guest list in Hincho Taw and Thabyay Shaung villages, the military council arrested six local residents – U Kyawswa Min, Ko Su Kan, Ko Soe Lwin, Ma Aye Cho, Ma Kyin Shwe and Ma Mi Lae.

Similarly, the Maungmakan villagers – U Soe Thein, U Aung Kyaw Lwin, U Nyi Nyi Aunga, Ko aung Zaw, Daw Lwin and his daughter – were arrested around 3 am on July 29.

The junta arrested 12 locals on suspicion of providing financial support to the People’s Defense Forces (PDF).

The whereabouts of the detainees remain unknown, and family members are trying to get in touch with them.

On July 26, the military council arrested the owner of a boarding school and a couple of grocery store in Aukyebyu village on suspicion of having links to PDF.

In recent days, the massive junta forces have advanced into Launglon Township and conducted unexpected inspections and arrests.
