4 soldiers join CDM after fierce fighting with Cobra column

The Cobra column announced that four soldiers of the military council who were fighting with the Cobra column at the Thone Htet Gwe on the Myawadd-Wallay road had joined the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM).

Four military personnel serving with Light Infantry Battalion-2 under Division-4, which have clashed with the Cobra column for over a month, contacted the Cobra column on August 3 and joined the people’s embrace.

They were well taken care of by Cobra Column in a safe place providing them with food and security.

In addition, military council soldiers who want to join CDM can contact the Cobra Column Facebook Page, the Cobra Column said.

Since July 7, clashes between the military council and the Cobra column have continued at Thone Htet Gwe on the Myawaddy-Wallay road and around the surrounding areas.

During the fighting on August 5, one soldier was killed, at least four others were seriously injured while  three Cobra column comrades suffered minor wounds.
