KNLA confiscates junta’s weapons, ammunition carried by civilian vehicle

Thaton, August (11)

The Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) seized the junta’s ammunition and some commodities carried by civilian car on the road to Htonebogyi and Htonbolay villages in Mon State’s Thaton Township, the officials from KNU-Thaton District told Than Lwin Times.

When the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) searched the cars departing Thaton on August 9, they found weapons, ammo, and military equipment on the car and confiscated them.

Among the items seized by the KNLA Joint Force are 250 rounds of 5.56 mm; 49 rounds of 7.62 mm; nine combat helmets; seven bulletproof vests; a national identification card; two watches, and some food.

The driver said these are the items that will be delivered to No. 401 Light Infantry Division of the military council.

The KNLA said that the driver who was carrying weapons and equipment for the military council was warned not to carry such items again and was then released.

Two members of the regime were recently killed by landmines in the KNU-controlled Thathon Township while returning from collecting food and wages to the military council’s Win Tapan and Laykay camps in Belin Township.
