Yebyu, August (13)

The local residents are worried about the fighting because about a 100-member military column invaded near Kyaezuutaw village in Tanintharyi Region’s Yebyu Township.

On August 12, at around 8 am, more than 100 military troops entered the village of Kyaezuutaw.

Some local residents have moved because of the fear of fighting between the two sides.

A local resident said that the military column arrived at the KNU checkpoint.

Kyaezuutaw is a village under the control of the Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade 4.

In Yebyu Township, after the military convoy was attacked with mines in late July, the regime forces are trying to clear the area where PDF troops are believed to be.
