Junta prepares to invade places where PDF reportedly camp in Ye Township

Ye, August (14)

After the military council’s allied forces and departmental offices were frequently attacked in Mon State’s Ye Township, the junta have prepared to advance the places where PDFs may be based, a source for People’s Defense Forces told Than Lwin Times.

More than 100 members of the troops have been deployed in the villages along the Ye-Thanbyuzayat Road including Kaninkamaw, Mawkanin, Lainmawchan, Aung Thabyay, Ywatharaye and Painnetaw since August 11.

Lieutenant Yan Naing , in-charge of Ye PDF, said that he was monitoring the situation as he had received information that the military council was preparing to launch a military operation.

In addition, he urged the local people to follow the rules issued by the People’s Defense Forces and prepare in advance to avoid being arrested as human shields.

The locals are worried about the possible fighting because the regime troops are preparing to invade some villages in Ye Township.

On August 3, a resistance group of Ye Balu attacked the regime’s immigration office, killing three people, including the deputy immigration officer of Ye Township, and the other one was seriously injured.

Currently, the authorities have tightened security in Ye Township and restricted access to the areas where departmental offices are located.
