The military council used about 100 local people as human shields and stationed at the Shan-Kayah border town of Mobye, the PDF members told Than Lwin Times.
The military council began stationing there and firing heavy weapons into Mobye town in the evening of September 18.
Locals fled the region after the military council fired heavy weapons, and others are now hiding in churches. The soldiers are keeping and using them as human shields.
The military council had to keep the people by their side to prevent the attacks of the revolutionary forces, and the resistance forces were having a hard time fighting,
It is reported that the people who were forcibly detained by the coup military council are those who are hiding in the Settawyar Temple and the Mwedaw Pagoda.
Mobye PDF, Pekon PDF, Loikaw PDF, Central Region Special Task Force, Karenni Army (KA), The Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF), Demoso PDF, Nay Pyi Taw PDF, United Resistance Force (URF) and Karenni Generation Z Army (KGZ) are resisting the military council’s attack on Mobye.
The junta army is trying to station at Mobye because it is an important communication town in the distribution of food and ammunition to its forces in the province.
