Junta suffers heavy losses in Dawei- Htee Khee battle

Dawei, October (15)

The regime troops retreated after suffering heavy losses in the clashes that took place on the Dawei–Htee Khee route near Wakone and Thingandone villages in Tanintharyi Region’s Dawei Township.

A 100-strong military column advancing to Htee Khee from Dawei was attacked by a joint force of resistance forces – Kawthoolei Army’s 3rd Division, Thanmani Guerrilla, Black Panther Column, and Eastern Dawei PDF on October 14.

At least 20 members of the military council were reportedly killed in two separate battles that took place in Wakone village and Thingandone village.

An official of the Eastern Dawei PDF said that after being attacked, the junta troops retreated to Kyaukme hill in their cars.

They are members of the Military Council who brought weapons and basic food for their troops along the Dawei-Htee Khee road.

When the fighting broke out in the nearby villages of Wakone village and Thingandone village, the residents had to temporarily flee to safe places and are now returning to their homes.

There are frequently military operations and skirmishes with the People’s Defense Forces because the military council use the Dawei-Htee Khee road to deliver food and ammunition.
