Ye, October (30)

Some schools in Mon State’s Ye Township are temporarily closed, and there are few students attending classes as a result of the instability in the area, the locals told Than Lwin Times.

The clashes between the resistance forces and the junta army in Ye Township continue, and the Military Council’s offices are frequently attacked.

Furthermore, the revolutionary forces have warned non-CDM teachers and principals of schools in Ye Township one last time to join the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM).

After being warned, some Non-CDM teachers did not go school and school parents did not send their students to school, the locals said.

As a result, there are almost no students attending schools in the villages, while there are only a few students attending the schools in urban areas.

The regime’s education officer of the of Mon State did not respond to Than Lwin Times’s request about the situation of the school in Ye Township.

There are no less than 278 schools in Ye township and there are more than 30,000 students studying there.
