Belin, November (12)

A combined force of Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) attacked a military convoy and a junta checkpoint Daukyat village in Mon State’s Belin Township on November 11, members of the KNU’s Thaton District told Than Lwin Times.

The military convoy heading to Belin from Thaton was attacked with an RPG rocket and a 40-mm gun on the Yangon-Mawlamyine road around 6 am the day before yesterday.

The attack hit one military vehicle, and the casualties are under investigation.

Similarly, the KNLA forces opened fire at a military checkpoint near the old Belin toll gate in Daukyat village around 7 am on November 11.

According to reports, two military personnel and a pedestrian were hurt in the incident, although Than Lwin Times has yet to confirm this.

The military council retaliated with heavy and small weapons, but no one was injured on the KNLA side.

Following the military takeover, military convoys were frequently targeted near Daukyat village in Belin Township, and the checkpoint was assaulted at least four times by KNLA fighters.
