Two policemen, including surveillance officer, shot dead in Zinkyike

The two policemen, including a surveillance officer from Zinkyike police station, were shot and killed in Mon State’s Zinkyike Township around 3 pm on December 10, the local sources told Than Lwin Times.

Two unidentified gunmen on motorcycles shot Maung Ko Ko, a surveillance officer, and policeman Khaing Zaw Tun on the Mawlamyine-Yangon road on their way back from Ottadar village to the Znkyike police station.

Both Maung Ko Ko and Khaing Zaw Tun died on the spot after sustaining four gunshot wounds to the head and abdomen, respectively.

It is reported that the bodies of the dead policemen have been taken to the public hospital in Paung Township.

After the incident, the regime forces blocked the Mawlamyine-Yanogn road and conducted inspections, sometimes shooting guns.

It is still unknown who killed the two police officers.

In recent days, the Zinkyike police station was hit by a drone attack, and the two policemen sustained minor injuries.
