Myanmar’s civilian National Unity Government (NUG) has called on neighbouring countries to ban junta warplanes from using their airspace as the regime is making brutal air raids on civilians.
The junta’s fighter jets entered Indian airspace to attack the headquarters of China National Front on 10 and 11 January.
In addition to the recent incident, the junta military also used airspaces of Thailand and Bangladesh in making air strikes on resistance forces.
The NUG also requested neighbouring countries of Myanmar to prevent the junta from using their territory for the violent attacks on the civilians.
The latest airstrike on CNF headquarters in China State killed its five soldiers and injured some civilians, also causing extensive damages including a house and a rural clinic.
U Kyaw Zaw, the spokesperson of NUG’s President Office, said to the Than Lwin Times those preparations are being made to make defensive measures against airstrikes of military junta.
In fighting against the resistant forces, the regime frequently made airstrikes and dropped bombs on civilian areas.
Aerial attacks on a school in Depayin village of Sagaing Region and Anantpar area in Hpa-kant Township of Kachin State killed many civilians and the members of Kachin Independence Organisation.
The NUG said over 200 civilians were killed by the military airstrikes across the country after the coup in 2021. News—Than Lwin Times
