MSICC reorganized into Mon State Federal Council

Mawlamyine, January (24)

The Mon State Interim Coordination Committee (MSICC), which was formed in 2021, has been reorganized into the Mon State Federal Council (MSFC) almost two years after the coup.

It was announced after the first conference of the Mon State Federal Council (MSFC) held on January 22 that the Mon State Federal Council (MSFC) was designated as a state-based Mon State federal unit.

According to the current political situation, since there is a need for a state federal unit that represents the people of Mon state and the Mon people, MSICC decided to form the Mon State Federal Council (MSFC) on January 15.

The first conference was attended by more than 80 representatives from Mon state political communities, ethnic resistance forces (EROs), civil organizations, women’s organizations, youth organizations, and exiled Mon and Pa-Oh people.

At the conference, the political goals and political road map of the Mon State Federal Council (MSFC) were approved, and a decision was made to unite the forces of Mon State against the military dictatorship during the revolutionary period.

They were also able to establish three powers such as legislative, judicial, and administrative measures to be applied during the revolutionary or interim period, and they determined to mobilize all the revolutionary forces in Mon State to participate in the fight against dictatorship.

Furthermore, the council has successfully established the Mon State Federal Council of 25 members and will continue to practice the three powers of state self-determination.

The Mon State Federal Council urged the people of Mon State and the Mon people to work together with them to fight against the military dictatorship and all tyranny and for the right to self-determination and the establishment of a federal union.
