Chaung Taung Bridge checkpoint attacked by Ramanya Guerrilla Force

Ye, February (5)

The military regime’s checkpoint near Chaung Taung village in Mon State’s Ye Towship was attacked around 6:30 pm on February 3, the locals told Than Lwin Times.

The Ramayana Guerrilla Force assaulted the checkpoint, and there was an exchange of fire between the two sides for nearly 45 minutes.

The Ramayana Guerilla Force attacked the checkpoint after locals complained that the soldiers were releasing drug smugglers who had paid them and abusing innocent civilians crossing the bridge.

According to the statement, the Ramayana Guerrilla Force was able to successfully retreat after the attack.

There are reports that there were casualties on both sides in the gunfight, but Than Lwin Times has not yet been able to independently confirm it.

When Than Lwin Times contacted the Ramanya Guerrilla Force about the situation of the exchange of fire between the two sides, they refused to respond because there was no information officer then.

Telegram accounts that support the military council reported that one body of a member of resistance force was found, and one gun and one grenade were seized in the clash.

On January 1, two local women on a motorcycle were shot and injured by the Military Council for no apparent reason while driving through the Chaung Taung military checkpoint.
