Over 200 clashes erupt in KNU’s Hapun District in one month

A total of 209 battles erupted between the combined force of military council and Border Guard Force (BGF) and KNLA Brigade 5 in KNU-controlled Hpapun District in January, killing 47 junta soldiers and injuring 55 others, the Brigade 5 reported.

A squadron commander was among the dead and KNLA Brigade 5 destroyed six barracks of regime troops and one military vehicle, the report said.

The junta bomber also conducted 24 airstrikes, resulting in the deaths of 14 civilians and the injuries of 11 more.

The aerial strikes hit and damaged 52 residences, and some buildings were completely destroyed.

According to the 5th Brigade, the burnt buildings included four health facilities and four religious buildings.
