Two junta soldiers killed, one injured in Kyaikto clash

Two regime troops were killed and one was injured in a clash that broke out near Hngat Pyaw Taw village in Mon State’s Kyaikto Township, the Thaton PDF reported.

On February 26, the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) engaged in combat with the 100 junta forces that had just entered the village of Hngat Pyaw Taw from Kyaikgo.

Following the battle, military troops burned down some of the locals’ rubber plantations, and the severity of the losses is still unknown, according to Ko Aye Min Tun, the PDF official in Thaton District.

The Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) joint forces have not been injured or killed in the fighting.

Following the incident, tensions grew when regime troops stationed in Hngat Pyaw Taw hamlet forced some residents to escape.

The junta army has invaded Kyaikto Township of Thaton District, held by the KNU, for the first time in less than five months.
