Thaton-based junta’s 44th LID attacked by drone

The headquarters of the 44th Light Infantry Division, based in Kyaikto Township, Mon State, was attacked by a drone at around 10:30 am on the 21st of March, an official from Thaton-PDF told Than Lwin Times.

The attack was conducted by the joint forces of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), Kyaikto Revolutionary Force (KRF), and People’s Defense Forces (PDFs).

The attack caused damage to the 44th Division office and the residence of the division commander, and there may have been casualties, but the ground situation is still being investigated, said the resistance forces.

After the incident, the regime troops continuously fired artillery shells at nearby villages, including Hngat Pyaw Taw village.

Ko Aye Min Tun, the PDF representative of Thaton District, said that they will respond more strongly to the military council’s targeted attacks on civilians.

In addition, he documented incidents of civilians and children who were injured or killed by the military council’s mortar shelling.

On March 16, revolutionary forces attacked the Mawlamyine-based junta’s Southeastern Command with a drone, damaging a building.

The military headquarters of the military council in Mon State have been under continuous targeted attacks these days.
