A junta column of nearly 200 troops has advanced towards Pakarri village in Tanintharyi Region’s Dawei and detained some locals, the residents told Than Lwin Times.
Starting from the morning of April 19, a column of nearly 200 regime troops entered Pakarri on foot from Byaw Taw Wa, Dawei Township.
According to the reports, they detained five Pakarri residents, interrogated them, and then released them in the afternoon.
Some Pakarri locals have moved away due to the military council’s invasion, but the majority are keeping an eye on the situation, according to a local.
As a result of the junta army’s large-scale infiltration into the Pakarri region, the tension between the two sides remains high, and the situation could get worse, a local said.
Therefore, local PDFs have warned people to follow the rules and ask for help if they have to flee their homes.
On April 10, regime forces stationed at the Pakarri police station were attacked by the combined forces of PDFs, and there was a four-hour exchange of fire in which both sides suffered injuries or deaths.
