An air raid targeting KNU’s Hpapun and Dooplaya Districts in recent days has injured five people, including three women, according to local sources.
Around 11 a.m. on April 25, regime forces fired at least five mortar shells into Dar Bar, Bu Ah Ke village tract in Hpapun District’s Butho Township, while junta aircraft dropped six bombs on Tarmawlei area in Bu Ah De village tract around 2 p.m. and attacked the communities six times using machine guns, the KNU Brigade 5 reported.
Meanwhile, the junta launched aerial assaults on Kwinkalay village in KNU Brigade 6 around 4 p.m. on April 25, injuring four residents, including two women.
According to a source, a 60-year-old woman suffered an injury when an artillery shell fired by the junta landed in Dae Moo Law ward in Thandaugn (13th mile), KNU Brigade 2, Taungoo District.
The military column that entered KNU territory have often launched heavy artillery fire and conducted aerial bombardment targeting the civilians, resulting in the injury or death of civilians, the destruction of houses and buildings, and the displacement of people.
According to the statement of KNU Dooplaya District, junta airstrikes and artillery shilling killed nine locals and injured 33 people including children and pregnant women, destroying schools, monasteries, churches and several houses.
