Junta checkpoint attacked in Bokepyin Township, killing two military personnel

Two members of the military council were killed in an attack on the Laynyar-Bangla Bridge checkpoint near Bangla village in Tanintharyi Region’s Bokepyin Township, local resistance forces told Than Lwin Times.


At around 8 pm on May 8, the combined force of Battalion 1 of Kawthaung PDF and the Flying Star Force of Bokepyin Township, attacked the junta checkpoint where more than 20 troops were stationed.


As a result of the attack, the exchange of fire took place for almost an hour, and the military council fired continuously with heavy weapons.
The PDF joint forces were able to successfully retreat without being injured in the clashes, a Bokepyin PDF said.


After the battle, the military council has reinforced more than 20 forces, and security has been tightened, blocking and conducting searches, the locals said.


A security militiaman was killed on May 2 when a combined PDF force attacked the Military Security Affairs office in Pyigyimandaing Town in Bokepyin Township.
