Ten junta soldiers injured by stake mines in Dawei

Ten members of the military council were hit by stake mines near U-Yin Gyi and Ah Nyar Phyar villages in Tanintharyi Region’s Dawei Township, the officials from eastern Dawei PDF told Than Lwin Times.

The military column with more than 80 troops were hit by stake mines and injured while they were marching on foot from the Htee-Khee area to Dawei at 8 o’clock in the morning on May 9.

10 members of the military council were injured by landmines, and a local man who had been captured as a human shield was also injured by a landmine.

The junta troops took back the wounded soldiers and camped at the 8th mile.

However, the military council released the five locals who had been arrested as human shields that evening.

On the morning of May 10, the military column left for the camp based in Thayetchaung Township.

After the military coup, there have been frequent clashes between the junta army and the alliance of the revolutionary forces in eastern Dawei.
