Mom and daughter injured in mine attack on truck in Thaton

Thaton, May (24)

A 22-wheeled truck hit a landmine between Kamar Sai and Zayatgyun villages in Mon State’s Thaton Township, injuring a woman and her daughter, locals told Than Lwin Times.

A truck departing from Karen State to Nay Pyi Taw hit a mine near the Shwe Moe gas station around 9:00 p.m. on May 22.

After the explosion, the driver’s wife, Ma Khin Khin Kyawt, and her two-year-old daughter, Ma Tun Waddy Maung, were hit by shrapnel on their legs.

It is reported that the injured were taken to the hospital by local residents and given medical treatment.

Military lobbyists spread propaganda on their fake Telegram accounts that the Karen National Union (KNU) and the People’s Defense Forces were responsible for the attack.

On May 21, a passenger bus hit the landmine on the Yangon-Mawlamyaing road in Kamar Sai village, Thaton Township, and three passengers were injured.
