KTV owner shot dead in Kyaikto

Kyaikto, 17 October

An owner of KTV in Kyaikto Township, Mon State, was killed around 4:00 pm on October 15.

Locals said that U Aung Myo Lwin (aka Saw Nang Oo), the owner of Shwe KTV in Ingabo Village   was shot dead around 4:00 pm on October 15.

The 62-year-old man was shot by four unknown gunmen on motorcycles while he was getting into a car with his family to return from KTV to Kyaikto.

He died from five bullet wounds in his back and waist and died while being taken to Kyaikto Hospital.

According to local residents, U Aung Myo Lwin’s wife, Daw Kyi Pyar, 32, and their three children survived the shooting.

In 2011, U Aung Myo Lwin of the Karen Peace Council (KNU/KNLA PC) surrendered to Infantry Battalion 96 along with weapons.

Locals claim that U Aung Myo Lwin is operating business with the military council and working as an informant, although Than Lwin Times has not been able to confirm this independently.

The Kyaikto Revolutionary Force (KRF) has denied responsibility for the shooting.

On September 18, the family of retired lieutenant colonel U Aung Lwin was shot in the Taung Thu Su neighborhood of Kyaikto, killing his wife, while he and his son received bullet wounds.
