The allied resistance forces have taken over the Chaunghnakhwa police station and bridge checkpoint in Mon State’s Kyaikmaraw Township, the junta police, who did not want to be named, confirmed to Than Lwin Times.
On November 10, the KNLA and its allies launched an attack on two regime camps, seizing control on November 13 afternoon.
After losing the camps, the military council’s helicopter gunships strafed the villages, namely Chaunghnakhwa, Pawlaw, Ataran , while the Mudon artillery unit fired artillery shells into the villages.
A video of the revolutionary forces celebrating victory on the Ataran bridge after capturing about 15 junta soldiers went viral on social media yesterday evening.
The military council, according to sources on the ground, has deployed troops in Kadar village and prepared to prevent the revolutionary forces from invading Mudon.
On November 12, two children from Pawlaw village were killed and some homes were damaged as a result of junta airstrikes on Chaungkhakhwa, Pharthein Kannar, and Pawlaw villages.
Locals did not dare to leave their villages, instead hiding in the villages, and many locals were trapped, according to residents of Pawlaw and Chaunghnakhwa.
Neither the military council nor the allied resistance forces have released any statements about the Chuanghnakhwa battle.
Locals warned travelers not to use Kyun Ywar-Taungkalay-Chaunghnakhwa road, Chaunghnakhwa-Kyainseikkyi road, Taungkalay-Kaletagondaing road, Chaunghnakhwa-Kyonekwe-Htee Kale road, or Khayongu-Pharthein-Kyonkwe road.
