Bangkok, 6 April
Dr Cynthia Maung, the founder of Mae Tao Clinic at Thai border town Mae Sot , won ‘The People Awards 2023’ on 5 April, which is a prestigious award to recognize individuals who inspire others through their accomplishments, creativity, and leadership in various sectors.
The top 100 people in Thailand were nominated, and the 10 finalists were presented this award under the theme of “People of Tomorrow”.
Her Mae Tao Clinic is providing free health care for refugees, migrant workers, and other individuals, including children, who cross the border from Myanmar to Thailand for more than 30 years.
It is calo cooperating with ethnic healthcare groups along the eastern border of Myanmar in conducting trainings and promoting healthcare systems.
