Regime’s director stabbed, robbed near Nay Pyi Taw police office

A director of the Ministry of Transport and Communications was stabbed and robbed near the Nay Pyi Taw Security Police Office, sources close to the matter told Than Lwin Times.

When the director, who came to refuel the car, parked his car and passed urine near the Nay Pyi Taw security police office, two unidentified men threatened him at knifepoint and dragged him into the car.

 Two robbers noticed the man was a regime officer and stabbed him. Then they threw him into a ditch and drove away, a source close to the police said, citing the victim.

The director of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, who was stabbed and robbed, was taken to a 1,000-bed hospital in Nay Pyi Taw.

The robbers took some money, a phone, and a gold ring. A case has been filed at Nay Pyi Taw Dakkhina Thiri Police Station.

Robberies have been frequent in Naypyidaw, where security has been tightened since the military coup. A 70-year-old man and his wife were robbed and killed in Uttara Thiri Township on June 6, but the criminals have yet to be apprehended by the military council.
