A military column was caught in an ambush attack on Dawei-Htee Khee route near Wakone village in Tanintharyi Region’s Dawei Township, Eastern Dawei PDF told Than Lwin Times.
On October 6, at around 1:30 pm, Kawthoolei Army’s 3rd Division and PDF joint force attacked a 80 members of military column heading to Dawei from Mytta village in vehicles and on foot.
After the attack, the two sides exchanged fire for nearly 10 minutes, and three soldiers were killed, a witness said.
The regime forces launched a retaliatory attack with heavy weapons, but the resistance forces were able to withdraw with no casualties, a PDF from Eastern Dawei resistance force said.
After that, the military council column continued to march towards Dawei along the Dawei-Htee Khee road, and along the way, the locals said that they conducted shooting with heavy weapons.
There are frequent clashes between the military council and the local resistance forces on the Dawei-Htee Khee road, with the junta suffering heavy losses.
