Myanmar’s National Unity Government satisfied with support of western countries

Prime Minister Mahn Win Khaing Than said that his National Unity Government is satisfied with the assistance of the United States and western countries to a certain extent in fighting against Myanmar’ military dictatorship. 

At the 9/2023 meeting of NUG on 7 March, the prime minister said, “I advise all of our government members to promote relationship with neighbouring and ASEAN countries.”

He also suggested the officials concerned of the Ministry of Defence to hold talks with the responsible persons for the military district (2) to protect civilians in various and possible means.

 Mahn Win Khaing Than also instructed to ensure more effective administration, rule of laws and constant political dialogues in NUG controlled areas.

He continued to say that officials from Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Human Rights and Ministry of Justice need to expose brutality and cruelty of junta regime to the international community and obtain justice for the victims.

The Myanmar soldiers have committed severe human rights violation, arrest and killing civilians and rape and sexual harassment to women in the areas of strong resistance against the military.

 The meeting was attended by Acting President Duwa Lashi La, his ministries and official concerned of NUG.
