Junta’s Kyaikto-based Division 44 attacked by rockets

The 44th Division of the military council based in Kyaikto Township, Mon State, was attacked by rockets at around 11 a.m. on May 6, the revolutionary forces told Than Lwin Times.


The combined forces of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the PDF fired three improvised rockets at the 44th Division of military council.


The military lobbyists posted on Telegram accounts that one of the rockets exploded near the headquarters of the 44th Division, and the painter Maung Nay Htet Aung was injured in the right thigh.


In addition, another rocket fell on the road in front of the headquarters of Division 44, while the other fell near the Light Infantry Battalion-2.


Locals reported that after Division 44 was attacked by rockets, the junta troops fired continuously with heavy weapons into Moe Baw village in Kyaikto Township.


Ko Aye Min Tun, the PDF officer in Thaton District, told Than Lwin Times that Division 44 was attacked, and the details of the casualties and damage are still being investigated.


Meanwhile, around 8:00 a.m. yesterday, junta troops deployed secretly between Thabyay and Ah Lu Lay villages in Belin Township were attacked with landmines, at least three soldiers may have been killed, said an alliance of resistance forces.
