Junta troops carry out massive raid, 8 Launglon residents arrested

On the morning of June 13, eight local residents were arrested in regime troops’ massive raid in Thabyar and Inn Zauk villages in Tanintharyi Region’s Launglon Township, locals told Than Lwin Times.

A 20-member junta force raided a restaurant in Thabyar village at the entrance to Launglon Tonwship around 10:00 a.m. that day.

The regime troops arrested four men and two women who were inside the shop, including the shop owner.

Among those arrested are Ko Tayzar Kyaw, Ko Ei Kyar Kwe, Ko Htay Aung, Ko To, Ma Thin Thin, and Ma Mee Mon, aged between 20 and 30.

The military council also took two motorcycles belonging to Ko Tezar Kyaw’s group and detained the arrestees at Launglon police station.

After the arrest of six local people, the junta army arrested two more local people from Inn Zauk village. It is unknown why they were arrested.

According to locals, those arrested were ordinary civilians with no ties to revolutionary organizations.

The military regime arrested more than 400 local people in Tanintharyi in May, and three of them died during interrogation, according to local research organizations.
