Resistance forces attack military’s two checkpoints in Magway

Joint resistance forces carried out attacks on two security checkpoints of military in Myaing township, Magway region, on 8 August.

People’s Defence Organization stated that over 50 rockets including  80mm and 120mm  rockets  were used in the attacks, injuring some junta members.

“Attack is carried out under the guidance of Anyar Region Strategic & Military Command, and rockets exploded at and nearby Mandalay and Pakokku checkpoints in Myaing township,” said a spokesperson of PDO (Myaing) to Than Lwin Times.

Three junta members were reported injured in the attack, but Than Lwin Times has not independently identified it.

The military retaliated with machine guns and rockets, but none of defence forces was hit.

The joint resistance forces included Myaing Township People Defence Force, district battalion 13, Mahura Alintan, Zarmani, M Daung Ni, Tokekyi and DMG.
