Launglon, 1 December
A column of regime troops entered Kaveehnapin village in Tanintharyi Region’s Launglon Township on November 30 and extorted money from locals, according to locals.
A 70-strong junta column from Maunmakan police station invaded Kaveehnwpin village around 6 a.m. and conducted the inspection on the civilians.
According to locals, the column stopped and inspected motorcycles, fined those who did not have licenses, and demanded at least 30,000 kyats from a pub.
They also took five motorcycles and loaded them on the vehicle, and took cash and jewelry while raiding the houses.
Some local residents fled, but they have returned to the village after the military convoy left.
The junta troops ransacked local homes during their raids and forcibly took away valuables and livestock in Launglon.
On November 23, the junta army invaded Thabyayshaung village in Launglon Township and burned more than 20 motorcycles and 10 tents belonging to the locals.
