PDF attacks military outpost in Palaw, injuring 3 junta troops

Palaw, April (15)

The People’s Defense Forces launched an attack on the regime camp stationed in Palaw Gon village in Tanintharyi Region’s Palaw Township, where martial law has been imposed, the officials from Myeik Battalion 1 told Than Lwin Times.

On April 14, around 11:00 a.m., the combined force of PDFs attacked the regime camp with about 30 troops using heavy weapons and small arms.

The attack sparked a nearly 30-minute firefight between the two sides, but the junta camp was not captured by the resistance forces.

At least three junta troops were reportedly injured in the exchange of fire, and there were no casualties on the PDF side.

The residents of Palaw Gon village have been displaced for almost a month and have not been able to return home because of the frequent fighting there.

Amid the battle on April 5, a mortar shell launched by the military council’s Palaw Gon camp landed into the village, injuring seven people, including three children.

After the military council declared martial law in Palaw Township, up to 25,000 people have fled their homes due to the fighting.
