Six military men were killed after a military convoy struck the landmines on Pyidaungsu Road close to Weyit Village in Tanintaryi Region’s Thayatchaung Township, the comrades from Daung Min Operation told Than Lwin Times.
The Daung Min Operation group detonated three mines to attack three military vehicles carrying more than 70 troops traveling from Dawei to Palaw around 5 pm on December 28.
Six members of the regime troops were killed and about ten others were injured when a landmine struck one of the vehicles.
According to an official of the Daung Min Operation, the deceased soldier was left at the school in Weyit village and was picked up on December 29.
Moreover, the military council stormed Weyit village and destroyed seven houses on the morning of December 29.
The People’s Defense Forces and junta troops recently engaged in combat in Thayatchaung Township, which resulted in casualties on both sides.
