Passengers lose valuables as looters rob No.42 YBS bus line
Yangon, July (30)
The No. 42 YBS bus line (6p/6057) serving for Shwe Pyi Thar- North Okkalapa- Aungmingalar Highway Bus Terminal- Tharkaeta route was robbed near Eaindra bus-stop near North Okkalapa around 2 pm on July 30.
“The robbery happened around 2 o’clock in the afternoon. When we arrived at North Okkalapa, a gang of about 15 people boarded the bus. There are not even ten people on the bus at that time. Those people held the driver at knife-point and took all the cash and valuables from the passengers. I hid the phone in my pants. They punched me for not having a phone. The No. 42 bus line is not safe, and there is no CCTV installed on the bus. I doubt that the drivers are partners in the crime,” one of the victims said.
The No.42 bus line is owned by the Shwe Pyi Thar Thar public company and runs from Thardukan industrial zone to North Okkalapa, Tharketa and Aungmingala Highway Bus Terminal.
