Yangon, 18 February
The United States announced to provide additional $50 million in humanitarian to Myanmar people, according to the statement of its embassy in Yangon on 15 February.
The assistance includes monthly food rations, nutrition commodities for children under five, and pregnant and lactating women.
The recent UN’s report said that over 17 million of Myanmar people will require humanitarian assistance in 2023, which is about one-third of the country’s population, compared to less than one million in 2020.
Nearly two million Myanmar people are internally displaced persons now from the armed clashes across the country as they feel insecure after the coup.
