Mudon, June (24)
A member of the junta-allied militia was killed and another injured in a bomb blast near Kamawet High School in Mon State’s Mudon Township, locals told Than Lwin Times.
The explosion occurred at around 3:00 p.m. on June 22 at an outpost near a high school where junta troops usually provide security.
Militia member U Myo Lwin died on the spot after being hit in the head and legs, while U Tin Hlaing was injured by shrapnel in his hands and body.
According to local residents, the explosion was caused by a mine planted there, but Than Lwin Times has not been able to independently confirm it.
It is reported that after the explosion, the regime troops in the Kamawet administration office opened gunfire and dismissed the students early.
The military supporters propagandized on Telegram that the injuries and deaths were caused by the mine planted by the People’s Defense Forces.
Mudon PDF has yet to comment on this incident.
Kamawet in Mon State is home to the majority of Mon people, and it is also the base of Light Infantry Battalion 209.
