Juna chief General Min Aung Hlaing said that most of the local people are suffering from the stupidity of a group of people as a consequence of the violence driven by the coup.
He made a comment at the meeting of the military council held in Nay Pyi Taw on 1 September regarding the incidents of violence occurring throughout the country.
According to the military leader, he is working equally for the development of the entire country, but he is unable to carry out sector-specific development in the areas because of the violence.
He also stated that the public is suffering the effects of the country falling behind due to terrorism and that the public must consider regional interests and assist in the fight against terrorism in order to maintain stability and peace.
At the meeting, the junta chief also urged all ethnic people to participate in the political aspiration of implementing a multi-party democratic system and building a union based on a federal and democratic system.
The revolutionary forces responded that the violence occurring in the country was caused by the military coup and that the real culprit of the violence was the military regime.
According to a report by the research team ISP – Myanmar, more than 8,600 people were killed as of June 14 as a result of armed clashes sparked by the coup.
