A young man died after being shot during arrest by the junta in Weikyun Myothit Ward in Tanintharyi Region’s Dawei Township, the locals told Than Lwin Times.
On the night of July 9, the military forces raided a house of Ko Paing Paing’s friend, where Ko Paing Paing, aged 22, was with another young men.
Ko Paing Paing was shot in the neck and abdomen and arrested by the military, but the other young men escaped.
The family was then informed to take Ko Paing Paong’s body from Dawei Hospital, a local said.
The junta soldiers raided the house and shot a group of young men, taking away three motorcycles parked in front of the house.
After the military coup, more than 170 people were killed due to shooting and killing in Tanintharyi by junta troops, according to the data released by Southern Monitor.
