At least 10 junta soldiers killed in ambush: Dawei

The Dawei People’s Defense Force reported that at least ten military personnel were killed and several were injured in an ambush attack near Pakhat village in Taninhtaryi Region’s Dawei.

At around 10 am on September 3, a joint team of Dawei PDF and Kawthoolei troops attacked the junta troops marching through Pakhan village along with military vehicles.

Following the attack, the exchange of fire between the two sides took almost an hour, the PDF joint forces was able to withdraw successfully without any casualties amidst the military council’s heavy weapons fire, according to the statement.

On September 2, an intense battle broke out between the junta armed forces and the PDFs near Wakone and Thankantone Villages, east of Dawei for almost the whole day.

During that fighting, three soldiers were killed and ten were injured, while at least three PDF comrades sustained minor injuries.

Since a few days ago, the PDFs have been engaged in a fight with regime forces which advanced to clear the area.
