Two injured, four houses destroyed by mortar strike in Belin

A mortar round fired by the military regime injured two residents and destroyed four houses in Daukyat village in Mon State’s Belin Township on January 29, the locals confirmed to Than Lwin Times.

At around 7:30 pm that day, the regime’s Zeewon Artillery, based in Belin Township fired at least ten mortar shells into Daukyat village.

Maung Nay Nyein, 13, and the other, 18, were both injured in the mortar attacks, and Maung Nay Nyein is currently in critical condition.

According to reports, two injured young people have been transferred to Thaton District Public Hospital for treatment from Belin Hospital.

The military council’s artillery shells exploded in Daukyat village and damaged four homes of U Kyauk Lone, Daw Hninsi, U Aung Chit, and U Myint Oo.

On January 27, the Karen National Liberation Army’s (KNLA) joint forces used a drone to attack the regime’s Zeewon Artillery, possibly killing or injuring some military personnel.

On the same day, at 10 am, the KNLA forces attacked a military convoy of ten vehicles on the Yangon-Mawlamyine highway near Daukyat village, killing three soldiers and injuring one.

Following the attack, the junta army entered Daukyat village and burned three local houses while destroying one with heavy artillery. News-Than Lwin Times
