Sniper defects to KNLA

Mawlamyine, 20 September

A soldier from No.9 Infantry Battalion in Thahton township, Mon state, defected to the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), according to the Karen National Union (Central).

Saw Thet Naing Tun, 33, brought a 338 Sniper and 50 bullets, together with him on 8 September, and he will fight together with KNLA against the miliary.

Captain Darbaw, the commander of Cobra Column, awarded hims 100,000 baht.

The National Unity Government has reported  on 7 September that over 14,000 soldiers and police have joined people forces until now.
