The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and joint forces captured two regime bases in Kachin State and northern Shan State, Colonel Naw Bu, the spokesperson for KIA told Than Lwin Times.
On October 19, around 6:00 a.m., the combined forces of KIA Brigade 6 raided the Namkut camp, 10 miles southwest of Monekoe in northern Shan.
In addition, the KIA forces captured Lelon camp near Namsangyang Village, Waingmaw Township, Kachin State, on October 20, a week after launching the attack.
The KIA and its allies attacked the Namkut camp from three directions with massive force, driving the junta soldiers to withdraw from the camp at around 4 pm.
The military council reported that some bodies of KIA comrades and ammunition were seized as a result of the retaliatory attack on the 6th KIA brigade with air strikes and artillery.
Colonel Naw Bu responded that four KIA comrades were killed in the attack, but there was no loss of weapons and ammunition.
The military council attacked the Lelon camp between 3:00 am and 4:00 am on October 21, which they had surrendered, with air and heavy weapons, and until 11:00 am yesterday, Nor Bu told Than Lwin Times that he still did not know the situation of the ground battle.
