Mudon, 24 December
A fire swept through Thinbaw Oo Ward in Mon State’s Mudon Township around 3:30 p.m. on December 23, destroying four houses, said locals.
The fire starts at a residence on 1st Bayintnaung Street and quickly spreads to nearby homes.
The fire damaged four buildings made of wood, tin roofs, and bricks, as well as belongings inside the homes worthed more than 500 lakhs.
Rumor has it that it was caused by arson attack, but the Fire Department has not released any statement about it.
According to locals, over 20 fire victims have been temporarily relocated to relatives’ homes nearby.
