Dawei, July (9)
There was an explosion near the immigration office of the military council in Tanintharyi Region’s Dawei Township, injuring one man, locals confirmed to Than Lwin Times.
The blast occurred on the street near the immigration office around noon on July 8.
The explosion hit a man in his 30s from Wekyun Ward, Dawei, when he came to get his National Registration Card (NRC). He got shrapnel wounds in his leg and body, and was then taken to Dawei Hospital.
After the bomb blast, the regime troops arrived and checked the pedestrians and the immigration office.
However, the People’s Defense Forces (PDFs) made no comment on the incident.
The immigration office and the Road Transport Administration Department in Dawei were attacked on August 30, and former traffic cop U Nyunt Shwe was shot dead as he left the immigration office.
Because of reports that members of the PDF are on their way to Kawthaung, Tanintharyi Region, the regime troops have beefed up security both inside and outside the town, as well as conducting searches and inspections.
