Around 370 people were killed as a result of military airstrikes across the country in the eight months from January to August of this year, according to a research group, Nyan Lin Thit.
The military regime carried out 478 airstrikes in eight months, an average of nearly two times each day.
The military council’s aerial assaults killed 364 civilians, injured 331, and destroyed 58 religious buildings, 33 schools, and 13 hospitals.
According to Nyan Lin Thit’s report released on October 23, the junta army carried out the highest number of airstrikes in Kayah State and Sagaing Region from May to August.
Furthermore, the junta army conducted airstrikes in the Magwe, Tanintharyi, and Mandalay Regions, as well as Chin, Karen, Kachin, Mon, and Shan states. An unusual air strike was carried out in Nay Pyi Taw, the headquarters of the military regime.
According to Nyan Lin Thit’s report, more than 680 individuals were killed and over 460 were injured across the country as a result of junta airstrikes since the February coup,2021.
