Theinzayat, September (27)
The leader of military-backed Pyu Saw Htee militia and his wife were gun downed, and the wife died on the spot at No. 4 ward, Theinzayat Town in Mon State’s Kyaikto Township, the locals told Than Lwin Times.
The leader of the Pyu Saw Htee gang, U Aye Lwin, and his wife, Daw Myint Than, were shot at their home on September 25 at around 2:30 pm by unidentified gunmen who arrived in a car.
U Aye Lwin sustained two gunshot wounds, while his wife, Daw Myint Than, was hit in the head and body and died on the spot.
Social rescue organizations took U Aye Lwin, the Pyu Saw Htee leader, who had been gunned down, to Theinzayat District Hospital.
Last year, after a former major was shot dead, U Aye Lwin, who is also a member of the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP), became the leader of the Pyu Saw Htee militia.
At least 10 members of the Pyu Saw Htee group and the military informants were assassinated after the military coup.
