Dawei, March (4)
Ten political forces in Tanintharyi Region called for a solution to the ongoing conflict between KNU Brigade 4 and Kawthoolei Army (KTLA) in Dawei District of Tanintharyi, not through military means, but through negotiations.
The tension between the KNU Brigade 4 and the Kawthoolei Army (KTLA) reached a breaking point when they began accusing each other of the killing of civilians, including military and administrative issues.
The anti-regime people, including the Karen ethnics in Tanintharyi Region, are worried about the conflict between the two Karen armed groups, according to the statement.
The statement also calls for a peaceful solution to the ongoing conflict between the 4th Brigade of the KNU and the KTLA, not through military means, and to unite and cooperate in the revolution against the common enemy, the military regime.
Ko Hein Htet, a spokesman for the regional political force of the Tanintharyi, said that the conflict between the two Karen armed groups is making things harder for the local population and having an impact on the revolution. As a result, they urged the two groups to negotiate.
In addition to Karen ethnic organizations, political forces and revolutionary forces are also calling for a peaceful solution to the conflict between the two Karen armed groups, which has intensified.
The KNU Brigade 4 and KTLA traded accusations, and clashes broke out on the 17th and 20th of February. One of the camps of KTLA was confiscated, with casualties on both sides.
The Kawtoolei Army (KTLA) was founded by Saw Nerdah Mya, commander-in-chief of the Karen National Defense Force (KNDO), son of former KNU leader Major-General Mya.
