Myawaddy, April (30)

Locals say skirmishes erupted between the BGF coalition forces and the KNLA combined forces near Ma Chaw Lay Hill, No. 4 Aung Myay Shwe Bon Ward, Myawaddy Township in Karen State around 11:30 pm on April 29.

At least three local civilians were hit by artillery shells fired by the military council during the fighting.

The violence lasted nearly an hour, causing inhabitants to seek refuge in the homes of safer neighbors.

After the fighting, the military council was active in some parts of the town, and locals were worried that fighting would break out in the town.

The BGF has been bombarding villages near Myawaddy with heavy and light artillery in recent days.
